Swarovski-customised Vespa LX auctioned in a nationally televised charity gala for Breast Cancer Care.
In aid of Breast Cancer Care, Piaggio teamed up with Swarosvki to create a unique bejewelled Vespa LX. Swarosvki deployed their expertise with crystal, creating a sparkling crystal paint in the Breast Cancer Care shade of pink, and adorning the scooter with hundreds of Swarosvki crystals, including the iconic pink ribbon motif on the front of the scooter.
The scooter was displayed in Swarosvki’s flagship store on London’s Old Brompton Road for a month prior to being sold to the highest bidder at the charity’s annual fundraising gala ball – the highlight of Breast Cancer Awareness month in the U.K. The nationally-televised event at the Dorchester Hotel was hosted by Natasha Kaplisnky and received coverage in U.K. broadsheets and OK magazine among others, with the Vespa LX being the auction’s second highest earner of the evening.
