The stunning 5 star boutique Hempel Hotel, created by renowned British designer Anouska Hempel, was chosen for the U.K. press and trade launch of the new Vespa Gran Turismo in 2003.

The hotel’s elegant and chic private reception rooms facing the Hempel Garden Square, with its beautiful garden – seen in the film Notting Hill – were selected for this high profile event. For the morning event, journalists from national, lifestyle and specialist press were invited to breakfast and a press conference. After a presentation by the company’s Managing Director, journalists were invited to test ride the new Vespa model. A fleet of the new Vespa scooters were parked just in the front of the venue and refreshments were served throughout the morning as journalists came back and forth from the test rides around Hyde Park.

The afternoon event, for Vespa dealers and business partners, began with an Italian- style canape lunch and was followed by a welcome speech from U.K. Group General Manager. Dealers were also given the opportunity to test ride the new Vespa throughout the afternoon.
