The Gilera Runner viral campaign is just one of several viral campaigns created to promote new product and consumer offers. In this example, a micro site created by the Trumpet marketing agency was launched aimed at the Gilera target market of 16-22- year olds to increase sales of one of the market’s best selling scooters. The site consisted of an online game, a viral film that could be e-mailed to friends, a photo gallery, and a competition area to collect customer data. The web link was placed on various lifestyle websites, linked to the brand’s website, and the campaign was supported with online PR.
